In a statement which was issued to commemorate the third martyrdom anniversary of the commanders of victory, Iraq president underscored that arrogance powers persistence in targeting both commanders regardless of all the laws of moral, political and legal, confirms the greatness and influence of these two commanders.
Several high-ranking Iraqi officials, including head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faeq Zaidan, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Mohammed al-Halbousi, were also participating in the event.
Martyred Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani and Deputy Chief of Iraq's popular forces, Hashd al-Shaabi Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis along with 8 other of their companion warriors who were on an official visit to Iraq at the invitation of the Iraqi government were martyred on January 3, 2020 by the US drones under the direct command of the then US president of the time, Donald Trump.
